We’ll get started at 5:30 PM with dinner and casual tours of The Arts Center, then we’ll kick off the Bluegrass Jam at 7:00 PM

About the Pickin’ Party

This free gathering includes dinner catered by Biscuit NV (starting at 5:30 PM) and a live Bluegrass Jam (starting at 7 PM). The Arts Center invites everyone to come enjoy dinner, tour our facility, learn about our programs, and enjoy a Bluegrass Jam.

Doug Purdy & The Four County Bluegrass Band isn't really a band - we just gave this name to a group of musicians who have played together for years. These musicians have hosted the Thursday Night Jam sessions at Mexi Wing Downtown for many years and have played in a variety of groups at many festivals and events.

Doug Purdy is a retired educator from Englewood, TN and plays stand up bass

Buddy McClary is a retired educator from Benton, TN mandolin

Ralph Jones is retired educator from Etowah, TN and plays rhythm guitar

Keith Hall is a retired construction worker from Cleveland, TN and plays banjo

Don Goode is a private string teacher from Decatur, TN and plays fiddle

Stacy Everett, from Charleston, works at Olin, leads string music for church, and plays guitar
