About Arts on the Side ON TOUR
Arts on the Side moves off The Arts Center campus in March as part of a tour premiering a new work by Nashville composer Ben Jones.
Dinner is at 5:30 PM and is followed by a premiere performance of "The Great Space" in the Sanctuary at 6:30 PM. Composed for string quartet by Ben Jones, with choreography by Becca Hoback, this is a work uses sound and movement to explore the physical spaces we inhabit. This performance is part of a premiere tour highlighting unconventional performance spaces with stops in Nashville and Knoxville. There is also a vinyl release accompanying this tour.
Arts on the Side started as a FREE arts program in 2016 during the lunch hour on select Tuesdays. Back then, the programs were short and patrons had to bring their own lunch. We’re pleased to bring it back—better than ever—with a catered meal and arts activities meant to encourage fellowship and shared creativity. The program is still FREE and activities may include concerts, jam sessions, visual arts activities, table reads, and more.
