Meet your Arts Center staff!

Lauren Brown, Executive Director

Lauren Brown (Executive Director) has been Executive Director since 2013 after spending her youth as an AACA volunteer and performer. Prior to returning to her

hometown to accept her dream job, Lauren was an associate communications consultant in New York City. Lauren has a MA in Literary Studies from The University of

Tennessee at Chattanooga and a BA in English Writing with a concentration in Applied Music from Queens University of Charlotte. In addition to administrative and

program duties at AACA, Lauren is involved in a volunteer initiative to support downtown Athens’ revitalization efforts by focusing on arts & cultural programs. Lauren’s

favorite role is “Momma,” to Olivia Sloane, a spirited, precocious young girl who will direct many things in her lifetime.

Leslie Arnold, Program Director

Leslie is a 2019 graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan University, where she majored in Communication Studies with a minor in Theatre. She

has always been involved with the arts, so it wasn’t long after her transition to Athens that she found The Arts Center. She has been involved as a volunteer since 2016,

and has been on staff at The Arts Center since fall of 2018. In addition to her work at The Arts Center, Leslie is also a professional photographer in the Knoxville and

Chattanooga areas. She has over thirteen years of classical dance, drama, and music training/teaching experience, and considers it a passion of hers to share the arts with

others. She is incredibly thankful that her jobs allow her to continue to share the life-changing power of the arts with others.

Holly Doucette, Program Coordinator

Art has always played a signature role in her life whether it be in the visual or performance arts.  New to Athens, she started at the Arts Center volunteering in set production and teaching art camps. She realized rather immediately that she wanted to be part of the dedication to community engagement that the center thrives at.  Holly is an artist specializing in pastel portraiture and has a degree in Art from UTC with a strong background in art history, theory, and appreciation. Apart from being a slave to her four cats alongside her husband, Holly continues to volunteer and teach at the Arts Center.

Lindsey Kimball, Finance Manager

Lindsey has been involved with The Arts Center since she sat with her parents waiting on her sibling during play practice. She came back to The Arts Center when that same sibling asked for her help backstage. The joy she felt volunteering propelled her to keep looking for ways to help. Fast forward a decade and some change and she is now The Arts Center's finance manager, performs regularly with ACT and AACA House Band, September Song, and volunteers as AACA's Lighting Designer.

Jen Nunley, Media Coordinator

AACA has had a huge impact on Jen’s love of the arts because AACA has been around their entire life. Jen earned a Master of Music in voice from Lee University in 2013, and taught voice at Tennessee Wesleyan University while working for AACA as Programs Manager. Jen loved being a part of the important work of The Arts Center, but chose to focus on voice teaching in summer of 2018. Since moving to Canada with their spouse in 2021, they have “kept a toe in” The Arts Center, creating the 2022-23 season brochure, updating AACA’s website, and is currently helping with other media needs. Even though this work is remote, they are so happy to be a part of the cultural life of their hometown.
