Dancing, Special Guest Entertainers, Ellie Awards

Saturday May 6, 2017 at 7:30pm

Tickets are $25 per person

Pam Thigpen directs this bandstand-like dance that takes us through the music of 1964-74, with guest appearances by favorite local performers paying tribute to artists of the decade. During the performance, AACA will also present “The Ellies,” awards celebrating volunteers. Many live performances will be accompanied by The Arts Center’s house band, September Song. The evening includes party food and cash bar.

The entertainment features live and recorded music with tribute performances by Pam Thigpen, Our Three Tenors (Rusty Patterson, Tim Frazier, and Mike Simmons), Josh Bragg, The Hardaway Sisters, Lindsey and Andrew Kimball, Liz Schreck, Jen Nunley, Ron Clayton, Bob Roseberry and more.

“The music of this era is classic,” said Pam Thigpen. “Both old and young will be happily entertained.”

The evening is also a chance for AACA to recognize volunteers who have significant contributions to The Arts Center. “AACA has traditionally given awards for outstanding volunteer service and corporate support at an annual meeting of our Board of Directors. We talked earlier this year about branding our awards in tribute to our Executive Director Emeritus, Ellen Kimball, and, since this event is inspired by a school dance, we thought we’d take a “class night” approach and present our awards as part of the evening’s festivities,” explained Lauren Shepherd, AACA Executive Director.
