AACC headlines its first full concert to present repertoire from the ensemble’s first year singing together. The program includes a diverse collection of choral music, from sacred to secular, from popular American tunes to classic songs from cultures across the world. The public is invited to enjoy a matinee performance of children making beautiful music.

The singers are in fourth to eight grade and are from McMinn, Meigs, and Monroe counties. The ensemble includes: Ashleigh Turner, Caroline Ingram, Emily Offutt, George Wilson, Kaydann Bennard, Lauren Luallen, Loren Whidby, Maddie Yates, Natalie Leonesio, Nikki Lawrence, Rachel Willhite, Sumer Jaibat, Walker Combs, and Wesley Graybeal.

Karen Malone is Music Director at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and a private piano instructor. She has over 30 years experience in music education and holds a BA in Music Education from St. Leo University, a Masters in Music Education from Florida State University, and has completed doctorate coursework at the University of Southern California.

Ellen Kimball is Executive Director Emeritus of AACA and was the accompanist for the original Athens Area Children’s Choir (1997-2007). Ellen also has more than 30 years experience in music and is currently the accompanist for voice students at Tennessee Wesleyan University.
