Arts Education for All

AACA provides performances, workshops, and artist residencies to area youth at little to no cost to schools or families—some occur at The Arts Center and some happen at local schools. AACA also offers ongoing, tuition-based extracurricular arts opportunities and some free workshops. Please scroll to learn more about our arts education offerings and how to register. Arts Education Field Trip Opportunities:

Travel expenses for AACA programs – or admission to any eligible arts and cultural activity – may be funded by Tennessee Arts Commission’s Student Ticket Subsidy. Applications open August 13 and funds are limitedapply now.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis for Athens City and McMinn County schools. We will open registration to homeschools, schools outside McMinn County, and private schools if spots remain following registration deadline. Submit an interest form online and AACA will confirm your registration within ten (10) business days of the appropriate deadline. The first deadline is August 2, please check each event for respective deadlines. Click above or find the interest form link on any page below.

Kyshona  concert adapted from the artist’s TedX talk about music and healing. Register by August 2.

Sons of Mystro use their violins to interpret reggae classics, American pop songs and their own creations accompanied by beats, and sometimes a DJ & guitarist. Register by September 13.

The Daniel Kelly Quartet brings Shakespeare to life using song in an interactive concert. Register by January 17.

Story Time with an Arts Ambassador is a 45-minute story & art activity program. Registration ongoing.

Beloved tradition brings a KSO ensemble to your school. Register by January 11.

Exhibition opportunities for young artists:

           

Art contest and art hunt with grand prize winner on a reusable grocery bag!

 

High school, college, and adult students are welcome to enter. Entry forms due October 26.

Scholarship, grant, and funding opportunities:

Need-based scholarships for AACA programs to participants 18 years old or younger.
