For students with some previous experience painting with acrylics, this class will delve into color mixing, abstraction, choosing subject matter and the use of gel mediums. Set-ups will be used for some exercises and students will also be able to choose their own subject matter for paintings.

Palette or white paper plate

Acrylic paints (include basic color – lemon yellow, cerulean blue, cobalt blue, alizarin crimson, cadmium red, plus burnt umber, burnt sienna, Payne’s gray, white, plus other colors as desired)

Palette knife (oval w/ semi-pointed tip or your choice)

Brushes, flat, round, and bright, various sizes up to 1 inch

3 canvas panels, 16 x 20 in.
